Our Projects - Blossom

Blossom – Supporting Young People Through Creativity
A local project that has evolved through partnership working to explore new ways of supporting young people's wellbeing.
Yorkshire Coast and Wolds Neighbourhood Health Partnership and Blossom began through work with Driffield Youth Action (DYA), bringing partners together to explore ways to support wellbeing and strengthen connections within the local community.
Since its launch, the project has continued to evolve, building on local relationships and exploring different approaches to meet the needs of the community. As the work has developed, its focus has moved towards creative, art-based activities with Driffield School, working alongside Jo Kent.
The power of creativity
Through this work, we're exploring how art and creative activities can give young people opportunities to express themselves, connect with others and support their emotional wellbeing.
Working with Driffield School and Jo Kent allows the project to take a locally focused approach, using creativity to engage young people and explore different ways of supporting their needs.
How the work continues to develop
Blossom is an example of how neighbourhood projects can grow and change over time. What starts as an idea can develop into something different as partnerships evolve, new opportunities emerge and we learn more about what works locally.
The project reflects the value of working together, building on existing community connections and being open to new approaches. Through its current work with Driffield School, Blossom continues to contribute to wider efforts to support children, young people and families across the Yorkshire Coast and Wolds.
At its heart, Blossom is about finding different ways to make a positive difference to young people's lives, shaped by the community and the people involved.
