Primary Care Network
A fresh look at Health
What makes us tick
Primary Care Networks are a key building block of the NHS long-term planning. Bringing general practices together allows the provision of a wider range of services whilst at the same time aiming to reduce the heavy workload burdon upon GPs. Efficient working improves our ability to recruit and retain staff and to manage finances better. We are also able to use facilities more efficiently and more easily integrate with the wider healthcare system.
As we emerge from the covid-19 pandemic, pressures on the health system are immense. By aiming to transform services we hope to improve the longer standing issues of socio-economic deprivation and consequential health problems that have only been made worse by the pandemic.
Whilst our services will continue to develop, our priorities will be in addressing health inequalities, improving mental health and working to ensure early diagnosis of cancer to improve outcomes. Cardiovascular disease will be a key component of our programme and we will also aim to promote healthier lifestyles.
The PCN will provide a single point of contact for other organisations to engage with primary care in our designated area, thus further reducing the burdon upon individual practices. At the same time we will be available to provide a additional advocacy for our local population.
